The t-shirt label was created in the late nineties however the name udog comes from the word Dogovski my surname. The name udog means different things for those who use it. For me it was a name that i was teased with all throughout my schooling years.
I decided to use my screen printing services and make a t-shirt label out of it.
In the beginning there wasn't much internet shopping like there is now. It has exploded to enormous amounts. Amazon was only a small fish in the sea and ebay wasn't even around.
I had mail outs for people to order their t-shirts and paid for via bank account or cheque.
The payment options wernt even around like paypal and the likes of payway etc.
I was overwhelmed when i had my first initial order form someone in chine. Yes China.
Our t-shirts were made in Australia. I tired to focus on Australian made. I'm a fan of local trade and supporting local business.
Growing the business to other products it was quick hard to maintain the Australian made concept.
These days it hardly exists. When our food is basically all done off shore you'd think our clothing will too.
Id say 95% of the ragtrade is over there.
With that in mind i had to switch to off shore production.
I try and screen print and embroider in house in Australia but im afraid everything else is overseas.
We will always think about trying to do a few things here and if we do you will know about it.
So please keep on supporting our udog label. It has quirky graphics and we do respect our customers that buy it.
We always encourage people to email us their pics of them wearing our t-shirts
